OK - a "few days" was not quite accurate . . .
Another quick update to let you know the progress (or lack of it) on fixing website problems
As I titled it above, the "few days" estimate to fix the website issues was not quite accurate. Most of you have probably noticed issues with images being oversized on recent posts - apparently some changes were made to the resizing of pages in the new website provider update.
My intention originally had been to take a few days to re-do the site to use a slightly different HTML template. What I have discovered is that the switch to a different template 1) would be a LOT of work and difficult to do well; and 2) more importantly, may not fix the problem. Instead, I have been working with Hostinger's live customer service people and their AI help to experiment with possible solutions on the difference between the way I am seeing the page design in the editor (where everything looks great ) and how it looks on the World Wide Web (after the responsive image resizing "kicks in").
The other challenge here is I am heading into a period of time during August and early September where I am doing a lot of "gig work" professional development for one of my part time employers. That means very regular travel during that time to visit school districts during inservice weeks and train teachers on new tech tools and activities available to them for the coming school year. So my website work becomes largely a project for sitting in airport terminals waiting for flights.
So my "tentative" plan is this - I will start posting some new material (in part cause I am behind, in part because the customer service people need to see the impact of changes being made), but in some cases will back date posts to spread out the material. I will probably prioritize the content I usually change at the end of each month - new PD virtual sessions for August, new holiday content, and new geography posts (which have not been as impacted by the image issue, since I don't have as many images in that post format). I will also typically have time on weekends (between trips) to work on this as well. I have a lot of stuff backed up from July I would like to post - we'll see how it goes getting it all up (and as usual I'll be gathering new content to feature while I travel as well - heading to Florida this week).
