PD Sessions on home page updated after first full week of May 2026
Normally I would switch out for a new set of PD sessions at mid-month, but as I mentioned in the last PD update there just aren't as many offerings near the end of the school year (particularly in the last 10 days of this month). I switched out two selections in this update, and will mention a couple of other updates I will make quietly later this week. Also a couple of updates in the midst of Advanced Placement testing.

As I mentioned above, I changed out a couple of events that took place the first full week of May for events happening later this month. I'm also going to mention below a couple of later events for PD providers that I will update once their existing events take place this week. But I will not plan to do a full update at mid-month - instead, I will probably plan to do an earlier update for June because some of the events require advance registration or applications.
Many of the larger providers, rather than offer regular 1-hour PD events as they do during the school year, will instead focus on big 1-day or 2-day events once or twice through the summer. Also as a reminder, I am only focusing on virtual or hybrid PD events, so even though there are some great opportunities with groups like FTE or NGPF in-person, I am focusing on things any teacher can attend no matter where they live.
Here are the changes I have already made on the home page:
National Constitution Center, "On the Docket: Upcoming Supreme Court Cases", 5/20, 5:30-7pm CT
Marginal Revolution University, "Micro Games", 5/19, 3-4pm CT
And here are the events I plan to update once space is available later in the week:
IZZIT.org, "Money Matters: Teaching Financial Literacy That Sticks", 5/21, 6-7pm CT
NextGen Personal Finance (NGPF), "Cutting Through the Noise: What Students Really Need to Know About Investing",
5/26, 6-7pm CT
I mentioned before that my updates will probably be a little "hit or miss" for another week - thus far I have proctored 8 AP exams, with 5 more in the next 3 days. I guess the main thing I want to mention is that I do NOT plan to take off for an extended period during the summer - I may reduce the number of weekly updates down to 3-4 depending on the week and my travel/PD session schedule, but would like to keep going with the routine I have established.
Besides, I'm also hoping to start a couple of new series over the next month or so, as well as expanding more of the "best of" resource pages. If I take an extended break, it will probably be this fall - planning several PD trips for conference presentations and district PD sessions.
